Becoming a Real Estate Agent via our Real Estate Sales Registration Course

Before starting in Real Estate, in either Sales, Property Management or even some Administration roles, the Government requires you to have certain educational qualifications to register (this is known as an ‘Real Estate Sales Registration Course’). We will help via our Real Estate Sales Registration Course.

Real Estate Sales Registration Course Information

The Office of Fair Trading ‘OFT’ (The Government Department that looks after Real Estate in Queensland) requires you to have 7 educational units and then you must Register with the OFT to be able to work in Real Estate.

These 7 Real Estate Sales Registration Course units are:

  • CPPDSM4080A Work in the real estate industry
  • CPPDSM4009 Interpret legislation to complete work in the property industry
  • CPPDSM4012A List property for sale
  • CPPDSM4008A Identify legal and ethical requirements of property sales to complete agency work
  • CPPDSM4010A Lease property
  • CPPDSM4022A Sell and finalise the sale of property by private treaty
  • CPPDSM4015B Minimise agency and consumer risk

Students will enrol and complete these 7 units of CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) with us The Australian Institute of Property (RTO # 40908).

The Government has changed the training package. 
CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property (Real Estate) has been superseded by CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.

What does this mean for you?
You can still enrol and complete the current course as it is the educational requirement and is still recognised by Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Office of Fair Trading in Queensland and New South Wales. For students who enrol 1 March 2021 onwards you must complete by 1 September 2021. From 30 September 2021 RTO's will no longer be able to deliver the current course and issue results from CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate).

If you enrol and complete your course before 1 September 2021 you will not be affected.

What if you don't complete by 1 September 2021?
If you do not complete your course by 1 September 2021, you will need to complete all the new educational requirements by Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Office of Fair Trading in Queensland and New South Wales. We will help you with any transition, however you will be required to enrol, pay and complete the new course. At the time of this post, Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Office of Fair Trading in Queensland and New South Wales haven't publicly announced what the new educational requirement will be after 30 September 2021 (historically there is a transition period of a few years for people that have the old qualification). We strongly recommend that you complete your course by 1 September 2021.
